Path of Accumulation
The first installment of the Panca Marga series is called the "Path of Accumulation". These 20 paintings, released in 2021, part of my fine arts painter portfolio, reflect the concept that I commit myself to the life of artist, bringing all my prior life experience into the work, and taking the steps necessary to progress down the path. Each of the paintings carry a title that reflects parts of this journey. Every five years, a new set of 20 paintings are released until I am 80 years old. Panca Marga - The Path of Application by John Bishop
In 2021, I launched the Panca Marga legacy series. This 20-year project will feature 100 paintings released in five-year intervals. It documents my artistic evolution from age 60 to 80. The project uses a Buddhist metaphor. It shows that reaching a major milestone reveals new paths ahead.
The first installment was The Path of Accumulation. Now, in 2026, I am proud to present the second phase: The Path of Preparation. This collection of 20 abstract expressionist works focuses on building a resilient, sustainable art business.
The past five years brought both economic challenges and profound inspiration. Navigating a changing art market led me back to teaching. This transition ultimately deepened my dedication to my craft. The Path of Preparation represents the persistent effort needed to spark a lasting creative fire. I invite you to explore these new works and join me as I prepare for the road ahead.
